A: Carmelita By the Lake accommodate 12, including all adults and children. We accommodate up to 4 children under the age of 18 which make up part of the 12 total. The reason we can only accommodate 12 in the property is base on the fact we are on well and septic system (not city water). We are in the country, not the city and most cottages are on a well and septic. If we put more than the allocated amount there will be major issues, such as well running dry and more. This is not a position we will put our guest or ourselves in. We ask that all potential renter understand this. The infrastructure in place is for the property to accommodate a maximum of 12 including all adults and children. We cannot make an exception on this.

A: Yes, we strongly recommend that you see the property in advance of booking to ensure it fits the needs of yourself and your family. This can be done by booking an appointment which will most likely happen on a weekend.

Q: Do we have a certain period of time to get a signed rental agreement back to you with a deposit to have a confirmed rental?
A: Yes, rental agreement with deposit or full payment must be returned to us within 24 hours of us sending it to you and will be done via email. If after that time we do not have your signed agreement with the appropriate deposit, your request will be null and void.
A: We are looking for mature, respectful individuals, of property and neighbours to be our guest. We have had many issues with individuals of a certain age group, but we are trying to be open and say, “not everyone is the same”.
A: We are a spoke free property. Smoking can be done outside with smoke butts left in the containers provided in the back and front of the property.
A: No, we are a pet free property base on the owner allergy and what our guest have asked for. If at anytime we should be aware of pets in the property, you will be immediately evicted with no refund, including your security deposit.
A: Yes, a $500.00 security deposit is required with your final payment if booking is made more than 30 days before your arrival. If you are booking within 30 days or less of your arrival full payment along with the security deposit is required.
A: Security deposit is returned 5 days after your departure; base on the property being left in the same clean manner it was given to you and there are no damages to the property or any cleaning to be done. If the property is not cleaned and must b cleaned for the other guest coming in after you and there are any damages, your deposit WILL NOT be returned. Please read and ensure you are VERY aware of all the rules outlined in the rental agreement before you agree to them and send us your application for rental. We understand that some individuals may not want to clean after a vacation and if you are one of those individuals, may we happy suggest that you look at hiring a cleaner in the area at your expense or rent one of the many hotels and inns that give you the ability to just enjoy and the cleaning is done for you.
